Cameras everywhere

To learn the way it is important to be sharp and inconspicious. When you are sharp you are not confused by people. When you are inconspicious, you do not contend with people. Not being confused by people, you are empty and spiritual. Not contending with people, you are serene and subtle. - Liao-An

Distortion

Don't keep forever on the public road, going only where others have gone. Leave the beaten track occasionally and dive into the woods. You will be certain to find something you have never seen before. Of course, it will be a little thing, but do not ignore it. Follow it up, explore all around it; one discovery will lead to another, and before you know it, you will have something to occupy your mind. All really big discoveries are the results of thought. - Alexander Graham Bell

Sunday League

When one person stands on the top of Everest, everybody in the team climbs the mountain.

If you start something, you just might succeed. But you'll never know until you start.

Work productively within a team, trust others and value their contribution, but always be personally accountable for the consequences of your own actions.

Rarely do we achieve complete success in today's world without the help and support of others. The essence of teamwork is to identify and use the strengths of others to offset our own limitations, so that the strength of the team becomes greater than the sum of the individual parts.
Eliminate the word "failure" from your vocabulary and learn the lessons from your "setbacks". You'll always come out of an experience stronger than you went in.

I plow ahead, no matter how the winds might lash me. - Christopher Columbus

I find the great thing in this world is not so much where you stand, as in what direction you are moving. To reach the port of heaven you must sometimes sail with the wind, and sometimes against it. But you must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor. - Oliver Wendell Holmes

The advice I give to all adventurers is to seek a place where they may sleep in safety. - Samuel de Champlain

Nobody can fight their way to the top, and stay at the top, without exercising the fullest measure of grit, courage, determination and resolution. Everybody who gets anywhere does so because they are firstly resolved to progress in this world and they have enough "stick-to-itiveness" to transform their resolution into reality. Without resolution, nobody can win any worthwhile place among their fellow men. - B.C. Forbes

The kindness of strangers

Last time I saw Basilica this closely was at Cowes Week 2006, so my thoughts just drifted wanting to be somewhere else today.

People, going somewhere else.

I unfortunately allowed distraction get the better of me today so I didn't really capture my day to my satisfaction.

However on my quest for a great photo I met a great neighbour. I was about to climb up onto the docks bridge when a neighbour called Gerry stopped to chat. He's a real photographer (as oppose to an aspiring one like me). We exchanged details and I googled him to find his work. As an homage to his kindness, and the inspiring quality of his work I have included his photo of the bridge we met on. I'll take his advice on histograms and try harder tomorrow!
